medcom.id, Jakarta: Children with autism have difficulties to perform two ways communication which make them prone to bullying.
Psychiatrist Melly Budiman explained that children with autism should be helped in communicating and adapting with their social surroundings.
Lusiana Handoko, a mother of child with autism has several measures to prevent her child from being bullied in school.
"When selecting the school, I spoke with the school officials to know how they anticipate bullying, and how is the track records of the school," explained Lusiana during a health education seminar, Jakarta, Wednesday (4/7/2016).
Aside from that, the mother of two also teach her child to anticipate bullying. "If someone is bad to you, you have to run and report to the teacher," said Lusiana.
