medcom.id, Jakarta: Many Indonesians prefer to have plastic surgeries abroad. Why?
"Indonesian doctors consider self promotion as unethical," said Indonesian Association of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (PERAPI) deputy chairman Dr. Irena Sakura Rini in Jakarta, Tuesday (8/2/2016).
Irena believes local doctor have comparable skills and competencies with their foreign counterparts.
"Cosmetic surgey industry in Indonesia is equal to other countries. All treatments can be conducted here. You don't need to go abroad," she continued.
She mentioned a lot of Indonesians come to local doctors when they feel unsatisfied with foreign doctors. According to her, it proves local doctors have good skills to do aesthetic reconstruction.
"If you want to have plastic surgery, trust Indonesian doctors," she concluded.
