medcom.id, Jakarta: Many car owners might wonder the perfect time to change their tires as it is important for safety.
Head mechanic at Autopit car repair shop, Mus Mulyadi, explained that all tyre products are equipped with tread wear indicators (TWI). These bars of hard rubbers are only visible when the tyre's tread has worn below a certain level. The location of TWI is marked by triangle symbol on the side of the tyre.
Mus suggested that if the TWI has been visible, the tyre should be changed to avoid aquaplaning in rain condition which may cause the vehicle to lose control.
In dry condition, the effect might be minimal. However, the tyre would be more prone to debris.
From now on, pay attention to your car's tyre, you should be careful and observant to prevent unwanted incidents.
