Indonesian Jazz Prodigy Gets Grammy Nomination

medcom.id, Jakarta: Indonesian musician got nomination in Grammy Awards for the first time in the country's music history.
 
The history maker was Joey Alexander, 12 years old Jazz musician, who were nominated for Best Improvised Jazz Solo (Giant Steps) and Best Jazz Instrumental Album (My Favorite Things) in 58th Grammy Awards that will be held in February 15, 2016 in Los Angeles, United States.
 
The child musician moved from Indonesia to New York in 2014 and immediately drew attention there. his profile has been published in New York Times. He is known as child prodigy.
 
The boy who born in Bali will compete with reputable Musicians like John Scofield and Jimmy Greene who were also nominated for Best Jazz Instrumental Album.
 
Previously, there was Indonesian who contributed to album that won Grammy Awards named Sydney Mohede. He contributed in Love God, Love People album by American musician Israel Hougton that won Best Gospel Album category in 2011.
