medcom.id, Jakarta: The Hammersonic 2016, the biggest metal festival in the country, is going to give more opportunities to local metal bands from outside Jakarta.
"We want to create local heroes. We will prioritize them on stage. Local heroes are the famous bands or figures from outside Jakarta. If you are band from Makssar, you may have difficulties to perform at national level. We provide them opportunity to be known, to become inspiration for others," said the Hammersonic 2016 committee head, Krisna, in a press conference, Jakarta, Monday (4/11/2016).
The plan is welcomed by metal communities. They believe that metal musicians have high spirit and should be given opportunities.
"Our friends at the extreme music communities have fighting spirit. We are used to work by ourselves, finding our own solutions. The (metal) bands from outside Jakarta have difficulties to perform in festivals," added Eben, from Burgerkill, a reputable Indonesian metal band.
Meanwhile, Andyan Gorust from Hellcrust sees that the fighting spirit of the metal heads are aligned with the vision of Hammersonic. "The loyalties of the metal heads are relentless, the spirit fits with the theme of Hammersonic," he ensured
Hammersonic 2016 is to be held in Ocean Ecopark, Ancol, in April 16-17.
