medcom.id, Jakarta: Indonesian actor, Joe Taslim, plays a character named Manas in Star Trek Beyond. Manas is an alien from an unknown region.
Joe worked with an Oscar winning makeup artist in the movie. He mentioned that the makeup process was very time consuming.
"I didn't wear a mask. It was attached piece by piece," Joe said to Metrotvnews.com, on Monday (7/18/2016).
"It took four to five hours. It was the same for Idris Elba," he continued.
Joe's costume in the movie weighs around seven kilograms. There are only two air vents in the costume.
"I learned how to move like an alien," he added.
Star Trek Beyond will be screened in Indonesia from July 20, 2016.
