medcom.id, Jakarta: The Minister of Middle, Basic Education and Culture, Anies Baswedan, welcomes the event of 2015 Indonesian Film Festival (FFI). Moreover, this year's FFI is held by the Ministry of Education and Culture, along with the Creative Economy Board (Bekraf).
"It is the first time that FFI is held by the ministry. We are present as the organizers, well constitutionally, we have the responsibility, and we may cooperate together with Bekraf," mentioned Anies, recently.
With the FFI 2015, the Ministry of Education and Culture hopes that Indonesian films may grow a good culture, as it may produce educative films.
"Especially movies on resilience, or about a mother, surely the film may well be inspiring for the Indonesian people. Films have attractions, so I hope filmmakers may produce educative movies to be loved by their own countries," he mentioned.
The Ministry will also buy the airing rights of interesting and good movies, as well as having educational values. It is due to the fact that films may also be functional as the benchmark of Indonesian education. Moreover, Indonesia has 65 million school children.
"It is hoped that the movie makers may produce movies watchable to our children. It is the challenges of our movie industry, not only making them masters in their own land, but also making children to idolize our own movies," Anies concluded.
