medcom.id, Jakarta: The relationship between Cinta and Rangga at Ada Apa Dengan Cinta (AADC) film is still fondly remembered by most Indonesian people even though the movie was released 14 years ago.
The romantic movie seems to represent Indonesian youth's life in early 2000s era.
AADC watched by 2.7 million people. The movie marked the resurrection of national film industry. No wonder the sequel, AADC 2, that will be released next April is highly anticipated.
However, producer Mira Lesmana said she did not feel pressure to make AADC2 as successful its predecessor. Mira said she wants to present new stories of the characters.
"We do not want to be burdened especially by the market pressure," Mira said in a press conference in Jakarta, Monday (2/15/2016).
Director Riri Riza revealed the idea to make AADC 2 came up when the casts and crew held 10-year reunion.
"At the 10 year reunion, we watched the film together. We saw that everyone has grown up," he said.
AADC 2 is still starred by Nicholas Saputra, Dian Satrowardoyo, Adinia Wirasti, Titi Kamal, Sissy Priscillia and Dennis Adhiswara while Lidya Cheryl is absent.
The film will also introduce new characters performed by Ario Bayu, Christian Sugiono, Sarita Thaib and a newcomer, Dimi Cindyastira.
