Foods to Prevent Endometriosis

Metrotvews.com, Jakarta: Endometriosis is a disease that gets lack of attention. However, 1 out of 10 women has the disease with high probability of recurrence.
 
Endometriosis is a disease in which tissue that normally lines inside the uterus grows elsewhere in the body. To prevent recurrence, there are several foods that should be avoided.
 
"Avoid fat as it may increase the estrogen level," said dr. Paulin Endang, Sp.GK, nutrition specialist of Fatmawati Hospital during health seminar in Jakarta, recently.
 
She also suggested to avoid food with saturated fat like fried food.
 
What kind of food that should be consumed to prevent endometriosis? "Food that has lots of antioxidants is good to prevent inflammation," explained Paulin. 
 
The example of the foods are vegetables, fruits, foods with Omega-3, foods with less fat, whole wheat and spices such as ginger. "Sweet potato is also good for its high level of antioxidants," she concluded.
