medcom.id, Jakarta: Most people are still actively working and conducting their activities even though they are fasting. Keeping fit while fasting surely becomes the hope of many people.
Then, how do we stay fit while fasting for the whole day? According to DR. Rizal Al Idrus, correct resting pattern is one of the key to stay fit during the fasting month.
"Like it or not, you have to wake up during sahur, and eat. Automatically our rest pattern is disrupted during sahur. The strategy is to rest earlier. After that, we wake for sahur and sleep for a while afterwards," Rizal said.
Aside from the correct resting pattern, another key to stay fit is to maintain the correct eating pattern. Avoid sugar and carbohydrates over consumption to keep you from being sleepy after sahur.
"When we have sahur, usually if we consume too much sugar and carbs, we will feel sleepy faster, where automatically the concentration and stamina decreases," he added.
Thirdly, Doctor Rizal stated the necessity of additional supplements to keep fit during fasting. The reason is that many micro nutrients are unfulfilled during sahur or breaking the fast. (EPS)
