medcom.id, Jakarta: The right medicine can save the life of an asthma patient. Until now, inhaler or spray medicine is believed to be swift in easing the sudden asthma attack. However, the medication went I effectively as the user did not understand the usage guidelines.

Inhaler is categorized as the reliever medicine, as aside from that, patients must also consume controlling medicine as the therapy for asthma.
"Reliever is in nature to be consumed only during the attack, while the controller is consumed on daily basis routinely to reduce the symptoms and severity of asthma," added Ratna.
Another thing, Ratna added, is that the asthma patient is advised to always monitor his/her condition with daily logs. Patients may be able to record the condition of respiratory channels in the mornings and evenings.
Ratna emphasized on the asthmatic patients to comply with the medication for a better living quality. It is due to the ineffectiveness of the medication caused by the patient itself.
"For example, often the patient has undermined the complexity and severity of a disease, as taken by the myths of the side effects on doctor's treatments, and more," she concluded.
