Pieter Lennon, Beatles Tribute Street Busker from Yogyakarta

medcom.id, Yogyakarta: Yogyakarta never seems to run out of talented performers. We will introduce  you to a street busker named Pieter "Lennon" Budie Yatmo.
 
The 60-year old man nicknamed Lennon, from The Beatles' member John lennon, because he often sings the Beatles' songs. With his guitar, harmonica and his unique voice, he entertains people. 
 
His appearance is also similar to The Beatles with flashy clothes, pencil jeans, haircut and glasses.
 
"Many foreigners ask me to play songs for them," Pieter said when met by Metrotvnews.com at his home in Teban, Gondokusuman, Yogyakarta City, Friday (3/4/2016).
 
The man studied economy in his youth in 1970s. However he stopped his study because of financial reason and decided to be a street musician.
 
"My parent were unhappy. From college student to street musician," he said.
 
He stopped as street musician following his marriage but his passion to play music reemerged years later.
 
It began when Pieter met his from from the Indonesian Art Institute (ISI) in 1990s. "He said, you have the talent to play music. You have to do it," Pieter shared his story.
 
After that, the nickname "Lennon" was slowly attached to Pieter. Even there are several articles in Germany and England on the story of his life.
 
Pieter underlined he becomes street musician due to passion. He will not receive money before he finishes his song.
 
"It varies from  some small changes to Rp50,000 and Rp100,000. If I don't get any, it to okay," he stated.
 
recently Pieter was visited by German singer Stevie Kramer. They collaborated for a song titled "Wanita Mulia" (Noble Woman). "The recording was here, then translated into English there," he concluded.
