medcom.id, Jakarta: The Institution of Research, Development and Public Services of the Faculty of Film and Television at Jakarta Art Institute (FFTV IKJ) released their survey result on Indonesian film audience (moviegoers) in theatres.

The survey result shows that from the age and occupation, Indonesian moviegoers are dominated by the educated group.

From 1.100 respondents, as many as 48 percent is from the age group of 19-24 years. The rest, 45 percent is from the undergraduate background.

"With the data we have obtained, we can see that Indonesian moviegoers are coming from the educated group. Most of them are at their young age, and have concluded their undergraduate degree (S1)," mentioned Muhamad Ariansah, a lecturer at FFTV IKJ, in Jakarta, Saturday (11/28/2015).

With the maturity and high education, Muhamad Ariansah thinks it can be said that Indonesian film audience are aware in selecting the movie they are going to watch.

"Based on that survey, if it is seen by psychoanalysis, then the audience are aware of selecting what they are watching. They have the interest to see Indonesian films," Ariansah said.

However, Ariansah affirmed tut the survey is not a claim on Indonesian moviegoers.

"The survey is not a claim, but a way to find out who Indonesian moviegoers are," continued Ariansah.

The survey is conducted from September to October 2015, at nine cities in Indonesia, which are Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Malang, Medan, Banjarmasin, Makassar and Ambon.
