Jakarta: The Indonesian Government has planned to reopen tourist destinations in level 3 regions.

Nevertheless, the reopening plan is dependent on the development of covid-19 situation in those regions.

According to Coordinating Minister of Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, the central government will conduct trials prior to the reopening.

"We will do trials," said the coordinator of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) in Java-Bali region during a virtual press conference on Monday.

He said that the current covid-19 situation in Java-Bali is improving significantly.

Per September 5, there are only 11 cities around Java-Bali that are at level 4 from the previous 25 cities.

Overall, the disease transmission indicators consisting of confirmed covid-19 cases, vaccination rate, and  mortality rate are also recovering.

However, he reminds the people to still implement the health protocols strictly and use the PeduliLindugi application. (Translator: Natasha Celia)
