Jakarta: The Bengkulu Tourism Agency with the support of the Ministry of Tourism is holding the Bumi Rafflesia 2019 Festival in the city of Bengkulu from July 18 until July 22.
The tourism event aims to develop the economy in the tourism sector in the province of Bengkulu. This annual event has been held since 2013.
"The Bumi Rafflesia Festival is an annual event under the Calendar of Event (CoE) of the Ministry of Tourism," the Tourism Ministry said in a press statement released on Monday.
"It is hoped that through this festival, the tourism attraction and the image of the city of Bengkulu could be further develop as well as able to attract investors to Bengkulu," it explained.
Apart from showcasing local top products, local potentials, and investments potentials, a number of activities are held in conjunction to the Festival. Some of the activities are Coffee Festival, Culinary Festival, INAFACT, Panting Competition, Arts and Culture performance, Kampung Besurek, Bengkulu Ethnic Society, Band Festival, among others.
Bengkulu is an interesting area to visit, with its nature and cultural attractions, such as Panjang Beach, Kaba Mountain, Rafflesia Arnoldi Habitat Park, Bung Karno house, Dendam Tak Sudah River, Tapak Paderi Beach, and Suban Hot Spring. Through this festival, international tourists are expected to enjoy the beauty of Bengkulu’s nature and culture.
