Jakarta: An Indonesian citizen (WNI) who holds a Schengen visa can enter from any region. Visa holders do not need to enter from the country where they apply for the Schengen visa.
This was conveyed by Deputy Head of the European Union Delegation to Indonesia Charles-Michel Geurts at the Safe Travel Fest, Kasablanka City on Thursday, November 28, 2019. The Belgian diplomat's statement became a clarification of the misinformation regarding the Schengen visa.
"But the EU immigration offcials have the rights to ask things that are needed if they see certain irregularities," Geurts said.
In addition, Geurts also clarified that Italy no longer requires polio vaccination for travelers entering the country. During the event, Greuts also shared tips and rules that must be obeyed in the EU.
Safe Travel Fest is an event organized by the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to campaign for safe and easy foreign travel. This event will take place at the Kasablanka City Food Society Jakarta from November 27 to December 1, 2019.
