Jakarta: Denpasar Festival (Denfest) 2019, which took place in the Denpasar Catur Muka Area, presented and promoted Balinese arts and culinary delights.
According to Bali Calendar of Event (CoE) Coordinator of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy Putu Ngurah, as one of the leading spaces in creative presentation, Denfest actually emphasized the prosperity, intelligence, and happiness of the people since the beginning.
"Denfest responds to the development of a city that is resilient in preserving cultural heritage, stimulating the presentness of creativity, and encouraging future innovation every year. Therefore, it has become a special attraction for tourists who visited Bali on their year-end holidays," he said in a press release issued on Monday, December 30, 2019.
Denfest itself took place from December 28-31, 2019 as a vehicle for creativity and entertainment for the people of Denpasar City. The festival presented various types of activities, from entertainment to industrial and culinary stands.
Carrying the big theme of The Lantern of Happiness, it presented a variety of culinary specialties from Denpasar and various arts and cultural activities that characterize the city of Denpasar. Moreover, this event was also environment-friendly.
"There is still no use of plastic, meaning that Denfest is still environmentally friendly. All eating and drinking utensils use environmentally friendly materials," he remarked.
Therefore, the event is expected to trigger an increase in foreign tourist arrivals and domestic tourists.
