Tourism, Creative Industries to Receive Incentives: Minister

Jakarta: The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Wishnutama Kusubandio in his statement on Sunday, May 3, 2020 said that the government has issued the Minister of Finance Regulation (PMK) Number 44/PMK.03/2020 as an enlargement of the PMK Number 23.
 
“This PMK regulates the provision of incentives in the form of Income Tax (PPh) 21 subsidies, exemption of Article 22 PPh Imports, and a reduction of Article 25 PPh by 30 percent,” Wishnutama said.
 
“"There is an expansion of the industrial sector, including tourism and which includes hospitality, restaurants, travel agents, and other tourism businesses and also the creative economy such as photography, advertising, film and others,” he continued.

According to the minister, this move is a step to mitigate the covid-19 impacts towards the tourism and creative economy industries as the most affected sector by the outbreak. 
 
Moreover, the industries have been waiting for these incentives for a period of time.
 
“Therefore, the tourism and creative economy industries are expected to optimize the provided stimulus and relaxation policies so that the continuity of tourism and creative economy industries continue to run amid the pandemic,” he said.
 
In accordance with President Joko "Jokowi"  Widodo's direction, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy will continue to take steps to mitigate other impacts of the covid-19 in tourism and creative economy sector.
 
“So that when this pandemic is over, the tourism and creative economy sector becomes the first to recover as well as adapt the new normal situation after the covid-19 pandemic,” he said.
