Jakarta: Acting Head of the Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Office, Gumilar Ekalaya, has ordered tourism operators to ensure the implementation of health protocols.

According to the local official, visitors are not allowed to ignore health protocols.

"We need to work together. Hopefully going forward, both tourism operators and visitors, would not ignore the implementation of health protocols," said Gumilar in Jakarta on Sunday.

In a bid to prevent further spread of covid-19, the Jakarta provincial administration has decided to temporarily close three tourist attractions.

The three tourist attractions are Taman Impian Jaya Ancol, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), and Ragunan Zoo.

"They will be reopened on May 18," he said.

“We will keep evaluating the reopening of tourist attractions in Jakarta,” Gumilar concluded. (Translator: Natasha Celia)
