Jakarta: Tourism Minister Arief Yahya, stated that Lampung is one of the most productive regions in terms of organizing events.
At least 53 events are being scheduled for 2019 and two events are listed in Calendar of Events (CoE) of the Tourism Ministry the Krui World Surfing League in Western Coast (April 29- May 4) and the Lampung Krakatau Festival (August 23-25).
“We expect to have more events from Lampung that can be included in the CoE,” the Tourism Ministry's website quoted the minister as saying.
Lampung Governor Arinal Djunaidi previoulsy stated that Lampung Krakatau Festival 2019 was a cultural and creative economic event for regencies and cities in the local area. This event aimed to promote the tourism of Lampung, both at the national and international level.
Arinal promoted Lampung's culture and natural wealth through the festival. He believes the event can help improve the people's economy and boost the number of foreign tourist visits.
Mount Krakatau, which is located at the south-western coast of Lampung, is considered as a part of world heritage with an extraordinary value, especially if it is packed with clever storytelling.
