medcom.id, Yogyakarta: Tourist flock to Yogyakarta as Indonesians enjoy long holiday this week. Many tourists use horse cart called Andong to go around the historic city.
One Andong driver, Mugiran, said the number of tourists increase this week. Usually he only goes one or two rounds in a day but this week he can go up to five rounds a day.
The 63 year old man asks between Rp150 thousand-Rp300 thousand for one round. "I take them in group. Usually one group consist of eight people," he explained when met by Metrotvnews.com in Malioboro Street, Yogyakarta, Friday (12/25/2015).
Mugiran explained he usually brings tourists to famous places like Yogyakarta Palace, Tamansari, Malioboro, Northern and Southern Squares. He also brings them to buy souvenirs. "We go around Yogyakarta,".he added.
The Andong driver doesn't want to waste the opportunity, he even extends his work time so he can get more customers.
