medcom.id, Tabanan: Historic buildings in Nyambu Village, Tabanan, Bali are well preserved. In the village, there are several Hindu temples that have been standing since the era of Kediri Kingdom and Majapahit Empire.
Metrotvnews.com had the chance to join cultural trail tour organized by the village. Our tour started in Rsi Temple which was built by Hindu priest from the Majapahit Empire named Dang Hyang Nirartha.
"Dang Hyang Nirartha was a saint and priest from the Majapahit Empire. When he came to Bali, he cured a plague in the Negara Regency. He then came to Nyambu Village and constructed Rsi Temple," said I Wayan Gede Eka, a tourist guide in Nyambu Village.
Not far from Rsi Temple, there is Wisesa Temple in the middle of rice fields. The temple was also built by Dang Hyang Nirartha. Between the two temples, there is a forest called Temple Forest which is traditionally owned by the temples.
"According to our beliefs, this forest is home of the guards of the gods. The gods live in the temples, their guards live in this forest," explained I Wayan Gede Eka.
Several temples made in the era of Kediri Kingdom was also shown during the tour. The temples have different designs compared to Rsi Temple and Wisesa Temple.
