"In Vietnam, MSG is considered as main ingredient," said Praba Madhavan, owner of Yeu Saigon Kafe, a Vietnamese restaurant in Jakarta, recently.
Another main ingredient in Vietnamese cuisine is pork. Indonesian tourists who travel to Vietnam may have difficulties to find halal foods in the country.
"Many Vietnamese dishes contain pork or lard. Even Vietnamese spring roll contains pork," he continued.
There are some tips to find halal foods in Vietnam. According to Praba, There are a lot of mosques. Indonesian tourists may find halal restaurant near a mosque.
"there are also lots of vegetarian restaurants there," he concluded.
