medcom.id, Bangkalan: Goa Pote in Bangkalan regency, Madura Island, East Java is getting famous among Indonesian travelers. Goa Pote is Madurese for white cave. The tourist destination is unique because it is located in the middle of karst hills.
The main attraction in Goa Pote is the swimming pool. The
water is clearer as it is pumped from karst area. You may enjoy the fresh water and the beauty of white karst hills that surround it.
However, don't be surprised if you see trucks carrying limestones. Not only that, there are also workers cutting limestones in several corners.
Nevertheless, the new tourism destination always packed by tourists. On weekends, thousands of people come to the place.
Besides swimming, you could also climb Jaddih karst hill. From the top of the hill, you could see the entire Bangkalan region as well as Suramadu bridge that connects Madura Island with Java Island.
To reach Goa Pote, you have to pass through narrow and pebbly road but te struggle is worthed.
"There are lots of tourists coming in, not only from Madura island, but from other cities such as Sidoarjo and Surabaya," explained Goa Pote management, Imam Efendi.
