Parmalim Hold Sipaha Lima Ceremony in Toba Samosir

medcom.id, Toba Samosir: Malim adherents gathered in Huta Tinggi village, Toba Samosir, North Sumatra on July 17-19 to celebrate Sipaha Lima.
 
Malim is the traditional religion of Bataknese people. The followers of the religion are called Parmalim. 
 
Sipaha Lima means the fifth month in Bataknese calendar. It is the most sacred ceremony in the religion.

"It is a form of gratitude for our welfare in the last one year," said Punguan Parmalim head Monang Naipospos, on Monday (7/18/2016). 
 
In the first day of Sipaha Lima, Parmalim held Parasadatan where they mentioned their life problems in the last one year to Mula Jadi Na Bolon (The Almighty God). 
 
After that, they held Panattion where they gave sacred offerings to the God.
