medcom.id, Jakarta: President Joko Widodo and First Lady Iriana are scheduled to attend Spectacular Lake Toba Independence Day Carnival (KKPDT) in Lake Toba, North Sumatra.
The carnival will be held on August 20-21. It will be centered in Balige, Tobasa regency.
KKPDT organizing committee chief Premita Fitri mentioned that hundreds of dancers and musicians will participate in the carnival. The parade route spans about 3.5 kilometers from Soposurung to Simpang Bulele.
"The themes are traditional mask, traditional weaving, liveliness and maritime," said Premita at the Ministry of Tourism headquarters, Jakarta, Wednesday (8/10/2016).
Indonesians celebrate Independence Day on August 17. Jokowi will lead Independence Day Ceremony at the Freedom Palace on the day.
