Metrotvnewscom, Banda Aceh: International Banda Aceh Coffee Festival 2016 introduces Aceh Gayo coffee as specialty coffee from Aceh.
The festival is held on May 10-12 at Blang Padang Square in the Aceh Province's capital. Minister of Tourism Arief Yahya attended the opening ceremony on the first day.
Arief mentioned that drinking coffee is popular activity among Acehnese. If you visit the region, you will easily find coffee stall selling Aceh Gayo coffee. He believes the coffee could attract foreign tourists to Aceh.
"We would like to introduce the region as heaven for coffee lovers," he said when met by medcom.id in Banda Aceh, Monday (5/10/2016).

Separately, Banda Aceh Mayor Illiza Sa'aduddin Djamal also underlined the importance of coffee for Acehnese. She appreciated national program that promotes drinking coffee culture.
The festival features various coffee brewing methods including traditional steeping method. It also introduces local 100 percent Arabica coffee that offers unique acidic aftertaste.
