medcom.id, Nabire: Residents of Makimi Village, Makimi, Nabire, Papua, along with Nabire Tourism Services, have found a giant waterfall at the end of Bihewa River, Friday, March 18. The waterfall has split the dense forest.

"The discovery of the waterfall is expected to increase the tourism potential of Nabire," said the Head of Nabire Tourism Services, Blasius Nuhuyanan.

The waterfall was found after locals and officials went into the forest long Bihewa stream for two days. Initially, it was the locals that had found the waterfall. To verify the information, a team was formally established.

"Previously, no one was aware of the waterfall's presence," mentioned Blasius.

To reach the location, the team had to walk for four hours from the sidelines of the Transpapua road, connecting Nabire and Waropen Regencies.

Blasius had asked the tribes elders and local figures to preserve the waterfall. "It is for the lives of our grandchildren in the future," he said.
