medcom.id, Tabanan: Rice field trail is one of the tourist attractions offered in Nyambu Village, Tabanan, Bali.
Tourists were brought through rice fields, plantations and forest near the village. A Krama, nickname for guide in Nyambu Village, accompanied and gave background information to the visitors.
Our journey started from information center in the center of the village. A Krama then guided us to the rice fields.
The Krama gave information about Nyambu Village including its history and its agriculture sector.
"The name Nyambu is derived from Jambu (Indonesian for guava). It once was battlefied area. After the war, King of Kaba-Kaba gave the land to his people," said Ni Luh Dewi, one Krama in Nyambu Village, during the trail.


"The irrigation in Nyambu Village has existed since 882 AD. Subak (Balinese traditional irrigation system) has existed since the end of 900s AD," She continued.
Nyambu Village has vast rice fields. It produces two harvests in a year.
When entering the forest, visitors saw group of monkeys on the trees. Our journey ended in one of the local houses in the village.
