Jakarta: The newly inaugurated Kelapa Gading-Pulo Gebang elevated toll road is expected to support the logistics sector, Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has stated.
According to him, this 9.3 km elevated toll road is intended to accelerate distribution activities in the region.
"The competitiveness of our commodities will also improve," said the former Jakarta governor during the inauguration ceremony of the infrastructure project here on Monday morning.
In the ceremony, Jokowi was accompanied by Minister of Public Works and
Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadjimuljono and Jakarta Governor Anies
Baswedan.
According to reports, the first phase of the construction 6 new Inner City Toll Road segments costs around Rp20.1 trillion.
The first phase of the project consists of Kelapa Gading-Pulo Gebang Toll Road, Grogol-Kelapa Gading Toll Road and Semanan-Grogol Toll Road. (Translator: Natasha Celia)
