Jakarta: The Police Traffic Corps regards the online transportation company, Gojek, as having the best service in terms of taking traffic security and safety into consideration.
“We see Gojek as being serious in executing several initiatives to ensure its service security and safety,” said the Police Traffic Corps Head, Refdi Andri, on Wednesday.
Gojek and the corps recently made an agreement through the signatory of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to increase safety for drivers and consumers on Block S. Area, South Jakarta.
“The MoU signatory is an important momentum to establish a sustainable training program for millions of Gojek drivers,” said Refdi Andri.
Refdi has also said that Gojek has made an important breakthrough, because this agreement forms an important part of the implementation of the Law no. 22 Year 2009 on Traffic.
“Our corps across Indonesia is ready to assist and support Gojek and its drivers. We hope that Gojek’s commitment in ensuring service safety can be a paradigm for other companies in the industry of the same type,” said Refdi.
The corps also appreciated rapid respond unit community of Gojek because of its active participation in helping traffic accident victims. The community also received awards from the corps.
“This is an important breakthrough by Gojek alongside with its rapid response unit. We must help the victims who are suffering from traffic accidents according to the constitution,” said Refdi
The Directorate General of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation, Budi Setiyadi, also appreciated Gojek.
“Among several companies in the industry in Indonesia, Gojek is the only company who protects its drivers and application users with insurance based on the constitution,” said Budi.
Budi also said the ministry’s regulation on online transportation emphasizes security and safety. “This agreement is in accordance with the regulation. I also appreciate the rapid response unit. Hopefully it will thrive because it really helps the police,” said Budi.
Gojek is the first player in the on-demand service industry who has made such an agreement with the Police Traffic Corps.
“The vision harmony between Gojek and the corps is what propelled us to come into this agreement, convincing us that we are more than capable of establishing the highest safety standard as the frontrunner in the on-demand service industry,” said the Co-Founder of Gojek, Kevin Aluwi.
