Jokowi Says Indonesian Economy Expected to Grow 7% in Q2

Jakarta: Indonesia's gross domestic product (GDP) is expected to grow by around 7 percent in the second quarter of 2021, according to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
 
"We hope that covid-19 vaccinations can help bolster national economic recovery," said Jokowi in Jababeka on Tuesday.
 
In the first quarter of this year, Indonesian economy still contracted by 0.74 percent.

"Through hard work, we hope that we can achieve the target. The target is 7 percent. It can be achieved if productive activities can return to normal," he explained.
 
On Monday, Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) inspected the launching of the Gotong Royong (mutual cooperation) independent vaccination program.
 
The vaccination event was held at the PT Unilever Indonesia complex in Jababeka, Cikarang, West Java.
