Jakarta: HSBC Indonesia has introduced a new service called HSBC Premier Next Gen in response to the number of challenges faced by Indonesian students abroad. This is a service that is available for HSBC Premier customers aged 18 to 28 years old.
HSBC Indonesia Head of Marketing Banking & Wealth Management Fransisca Kallista Arnan said the ambition to continue to be competitive has pushed the border-less generation to get the best education anywhere.
"However, these aspirations may be constrained by external factors so that educational goals are not achieved optimally, such as financial management issues for financing children while abroad," said Fransisca, at Hotel Mulia, Jakarta, Wednesday, September 18, 2019.
In addition to being faced with the challenge of being able to manage finances carefully and intelligently, students are also often constrained by the difficulty of getting approval from banks in the country where they are studying to obtain banking services such as credit cards, loans, and others.
Although parents are well-off in terms of funding, there are some obstacles that can still interfere, including the impracticality of making each transfer to a child's account from a different bank, the additional costs for each cash withdrawal at an ATM machine in another country, and the complexity of taking care of a child's lost credit card abroad.
"As well as the hassle of sending a new credit card or debit card to a country where children are educated," she said.
Fransisca believes that it would be very troublesome and uncomfortable for parents when their children needs funds urgently but the management of banking services had not been completely resolved.
"After graduating from college, these children now have new ambitions to own a house, a car and others. This also requires support so that they can achieve it. For this reason, HSBC Indonesia provides effective solutions that are able to anticipate potential obstacles," she said.
