Jakarta: Indonesian Minister of Investment Bahlil Lahadalia has stated that the implementation of the Gotong Royong covid-19 vaccination carried out by the Government and the business sector will speed up the country’s vaccination drive as well as restore public trust and global opinion in handling the pandemic.
The Minister made the statement before accompanying President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to inspect first-phase implementation of Gotong Royong vaccination for employees at a factory belonging to the PT Unilever Indonesia, Jababeka Industrial Estate, Cikarang, Bekasi Regency, West Java, Tuesday.
"We all take this responsibility. If the vaccination reaches maximum target, we hope it can restore public trust and global opinion on how Indonesia handles the covid-19 pandemic," said the minister, as quoted by the Cabinet Secretariat's website.
According to him, the implementation of Gotong Royong vaccination will boost the confidence of business players and investors.
The investment and consumption are two vital components in boosting national economic growth, he added.
On that occasion, the Minister also expressed appreciation to the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) and the business sector for implementing the Gotong Royong vaccination program as part of a joint effort to tackle the pandemic in the country.
