Bandung: Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi is optimistic that the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed rail project would be completed by the end on 2021.
The message was delivered during his visit to the construction sites of the project in Purwakarta and Rancaekek in West Java Province on Sunday, February 23, 2020.
"We want to focus on completing this project. So, it would be operational by the end of 2021," the minister said in a written statement issued on Monday, February 24, 2020.

"I have talked with PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC). It could be optimized," the minister stated.
According to the former PT Angkasa Pura president director, the progress of the project has reached around 44 percent. In addition, the land acquisition process is almost complete.
During the inspection, the minister asked KCIC to complete the project on time. Furthermore, he also asked KCIC to realize technology transfer between Chinese experts and their Indonesian counterparts.
"First, it must be on time. Second, technology transfer must be realized. Third, good relationship with the community must be maintained," he noted.
Besides KCIC President Director Chandra Dwiputra, the minister was also accompanied by Director General of Rail Transportation at the Ministry of Transportation Zulfikri and a number of local officials.
