Jakarta: President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has officially inaugurated the newly completed Kelapa Gading-Pulo Gebang elevated toll road.
The elevated toll road is 9.3 kilometres (km) long.
“This elevated toll road is a part of the Jabodetabek (Greater Jakarta) Metropolitan toll road," said the former Jakarta governor during the inauguration ceremony at the Cakung Toll Gate here on Monday morning.
The Kelapa Gading-Pulo Gebang toll road is also connected to Marunda Special Economic Region and Tanjung Priok Port.
According to him, the toll road is expected to accelerate movements of goods in Jakarta and its surrounding regions.
"The pace of distribution activities will be better," he said.
In the ceremony, Jokowi was accompanied by Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadjimuljono and Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan. (Translator: Natasha Celia)
