Jakarta: Indonesian Vice President Ma'ruf Amin attended the topping off ceremony of Menara Syariah (Sharia Tower) in Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) 2 area, Tangerang, Banten on Tuesday, August 23, 2022.
Accordng to Ma'ruf, Menara Syariah will become the first Islamic finance center in Indonesia.
"Later on, we hope it can become the largest in the Southeast Asian Region, and even become an Islamic Finance Hub that plays a vital role in the world's Islamic finance industry," Ma'ruf said.
Ma'ruf hopes that the building can support activities of Islamic finance industry players and other Islamic business players.
"I hope that the strong collaboration between the government and the business world in the construction of Menara Syariah will further spur the development of the sharia economy in the country," he said.
Ma'ruf explained that Islamic finance is also part of efforts to recover the Indonesian economy after the COVID-19 pandemic.
