Nusa Penida Port Project Expected to be Completed in Early 2022

Jakarta: Minister of Transportation (Menhub), Budi Karya Sumadi, inspected the development of Sampalan Port in Nusa Penida on Saturday.
 
The inspection was conducted in the midst of his visit to the Indonesian province of Bali.
 
“Despite the pandemic, construction must go on," said the Minister of Transportation, as quoted by Mediaindonesia.com, Monday.

According to the Indonesia Onward Cabinet member, the project is expected to be completed in early 2022.
 
The Minister of Transportation explained that the port is expected to increase movements of goods and people in Bali.
 
“We must construct this in every region, including Bali which is one of the main tourist destination. We must give our support,” said The Minister of Transportation.
 
Sampalan Nusa Penida Port has begun since early 2020 and so far its progress has reached nearly 70 percent. 
 
This port will support tourism in the golden triangle area that covers Sanur, Nusa Penida, and Nusa Ceningan. (Translator: Natasha Celia)
