Jakarta: Indonesian President Joko Widodo welcomed King of Eswatini, King Mswati III, at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday, August 24, 2022.
During the meeting, the two leaders discussed efforts to increase economic cooperation between the two countries.
"This visit is used by King of Eswatini to meet with the President and discuss efforts to increase cooperation between the two countries, especially in the economic field," said Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi.
According to Retno, the presence of an Indonesian company in the wellness sector in Eswatini could be an opening for various other collaborations.
"Eswatini plans to import Indonesian cosmetics," she revealed.
In addition, President Jokowi also talked about how the private sector and state-owned enterprises of the two countries could strengthen cooperation.
The two countries plan to create cooperation agreements to strengthen bilateral relations, especially in the economic field.
"The two foreign ministers have been assigned to prepare the documents," she said.
"So although the talks were brief, the talks focused on efforts to increase economic cooperation, including in the fields of infrastructure, energy, tourism, and also from the health aspect," she added.
For the recorded, King Mswati III previously visited Indonesia in 2002, 2003, 2007, 2008, 2015, and 2019.
