Govt Announces Online Motorcycle Taxi Tariff

Jakarta: The government officially announced the new tariff for online motorcycle taxi services during a press conference at the Transportation Ministry headquarters in Central Jakarta on Monday.
 
"The tariff will be effective on May 1," Transportation Ministry land transportation director general Budi Setiyadi told the press this morning.
 
"It is divided into three zones," the Transportation Ministry official added.

The first zone includes Sumatra, Java and Bali. The initial fare is around Rp7,000-Rp10,0000 for the first four kms. The lower limit fare is Rp1,850 per km. The upper limit fare is Rp2,300 per km.
 
The second zone includes Greater Jakarta urban area. The initial fare is around Rp8,000-Rp10,000 for the first four kms. The lower limit fare is Rp2,000 per km. The upper limit fare is Rp2,500 per km.
 
The third zone includes Kalimantan and Sulawesi. The initial fare is around Rp7,000-Rp10,000 for the first four kms. The lower limit fare is Rp2,100 per km. The upper limit fare is Rp2,600 per km.
 
Quoting a report from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Indonesian economy grew by 5.17 percent in 2018. It was Indonesia's highest annual growth in five years.
 
Indonesian economy was measured by Gross Domestic Product (GDP) on the basis of the current price reaching Rp14,837.4 trillion and GDP per capita reaching Rp56 Million or US$3,927.
 
According to BPS, Indonesia's poverty rate stood at 9.66 percent in September 2018. It decreased by 0.46 percentage point compared to September 2017.
 
The number of poor in Indonesia stood at 25.67 million people in September 2018. It decreased by 0.91 million people compared to September 2017.
 
For Indonesia, the creative economy sector has contributed more than 7.4% of Indonesia's GDP. The creative economy industry has absorbed nearly 17 million workers, 14% of the total workforce, and more than 54% of creative economy workers are women. Go-Jek, Traveloka, Tokopedia and Buka Lapak are Indonesian startups with Unicorn status.
