Jakarta: President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo today revealed that he has signed the presdidential regulation on electric vehicles.
"The regulation was signed on Monday," President Jokowi said here on Thursday.
With the signing of the regulation, Jokowi hopes that automotive industry in the country can develop competitive electric vehicles. According to him, the country has abundant raw materials to produce electric vehicles and batteries.
"So we can build cheap and competitive electric cars. We have abundant materials," President Jokowi added.
Investment realization in Indonesia reached Rp395.6 trillion in the first semester of 2019. It grew by 9.4 percent compared to the same period last year.
From January until June, investment realization for Domestic Direct Investment (DDI) reached Rp182.8 trillion last semester. It grew by 16.4 percent compared to the same period last year.
On the other hand, investment realization for Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) reached Rp212.8 trillion last semester. It grew by four percent compared to the same period last year.
