medcom.id, Jakarta: The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has granted PT Newmont Nusa Tenggara recommendation to export copper concentrate for the next six months.
PT Newmont Nusa Tenggara President Director Rachmat Makkasau, mentioned that the ministry gave recommendation to export 419,757 wet metric tons (WMT) of copper concentrate.
"Recommendation of export permit extension has been published for the next six months with a volume of 419,757 WMT," said Rachmat, at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Jakarta, Tuesday (5/24/2016).
"Export fee remains at 7.5 percent," he added.
The company now is waiting for export permit extension from the Ministry of Trade. The previous export permit has expired on May 20, 2016.
The recommendation is based on the progress of smelter construction. Newmont and PT Freeport have commitment to build smelter with the capacity of two million tons of concentrate.
