medcom.id, Jakarta: Minister of State-Owned Companies, Rini Soekarno, appointed Kartika Wirjoatmodjo as the new Director of PT Bank Mandiri Tbk, to replace Budi Gunadi Sadikin. Budi is retiring by the end of March.
"Yes, Kartika," said Rini at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Monday (3/21/2016).
Rini explained that currently, the General Shareholders Meeting (RUPS) is ongoing, with the agenda of changes on the Bank Mandiri directors. However, he ensured that Kartika is to become the new Director of Mandiri.
"Yes, currently it is in RUPS," she added.
According to Rini, Kartika has a high capability, both the knowledge on banking or experience as the member of the Deposit Insurance Agency (LPS).
"He also has a clear vision," she stated.
She hopes that under Kartika's leadership, Bank Mandiri may develop further and able to increase good efficiencies. Not only becoming a local player, but also international.
"I think it is how to prepare mandiri in competing openly. Not only in Indonesia, but also activities abroad, it is crucial for us to become a global player. We have to be able to do or have effectivity abroad," concluded Rini.
It was informed that the General Shareholders Meeting (RUPS) of PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI) officially assigned Kartika Wirjoatmodjo as a new Main Director to replace Budi Gunadi Sadikin who has ended his term.
Tiko, as he is familiarly called, was chosen to become the number one man in Mandiri through the meeting (RUPST) on Monday (3/21/2016). Budi Gunadi Sadikin, who released his position, retired as of Monday.
Kartika previously chaired as the Director of Finance and Strategy of Bank Mandiri since last year. Tiko is a banker with strong character and leadership, as able to take fast decisions. It was proven when he hold the position as the Executive Head of LPS.
Kartika has also been part of Mandiri for quite some time. Before his time in LPS, several positions he headed was the Director of Indonesia Infrastructure Finance, Managing Director of Mandiri Sekuritas, Senior Vice President and Group Head Strategy and Performance of Mandiri.
