medcom.id, Jakarta: Former Head of the Oil and Gas Management Reform Team, Faisal Basri mentioned that the liquidation of Pertamina Energy Trading Limited (Petral) has not seized the oil mafia's play. He assessed that they can still breathe freely.
"Mafia keeps on going. We form another, they keep on going," Faisal said in a discussion at Bumbu Desa restaurant, Cikini, Central Jakarta, Sunday (5/17/2015).
He explained the Petral liquidation is similar to setting a beehive on fire. The bees are still alive, as they move to another hive. That behavior, he explained, include the oil mafia.
During his assessment on Petral, he said his team had discovered appalling facts. As a fact, he said, the oil mafia play has spread to other government institutions.
"Evidently there is a connection with the Special Task Force of Oil and Gas Upstream Business Activity Unit (SKK Migas)," he added.
But Faisal was reluctant to mention the names of the parties he considered as oil mafia. He thinks it is not his jurisdiction.
"We don't catch mafia. We are not in the law enforcement path, but we map them," he concluded. (Eps)
