US$433.8 Million Surplus of Trade Balance in August 2015

medcom.id, Jakarta: The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded that Indonesia's trade balance during August 2015 experienced a surplus of US$433.8 million. The export value during the month reached US$12.7 billion, while the import reached US$12.27 billion.
 
"August's export value reached US$12.7 billion while the import of August 2015 reached US$12.27 billion, so the trade balance of August 2015 is a surplus by US$433.8 million," mentioned the Head of BPS Suryamin in the Head Office of BPS, Jalan dr. Sutomo, Central Jakarta, Tuesday (9/15/2015).
 
Suryamin explained that if compared by the previous month, the August achievement has risen by 10.79 percent. However, August 2015's export have decreased by 12.28 percent from August last year (yoy) at US$14.48 billion.

"The oil and gas export was at US$1.53 billion, up by 7.67 percent from the previous month. Meanwhile the non-oil and gas export was at US$11.17 billion, rising by 11.23 percent from the previous month," he explained.
 
In the mean time, the import value, Suryamin stated, experienced an increase by 21.69 percent compared to July 2015. If it is compared to August in the previous year, the import decreased by 17.06 percent.
 
"Oil and gas import have reached US$2.11 billion or down by 8.12 percent. Meanwhile the non-oil and gas import was at US$10.16 billion, which rose by 30.48 percent," he concluded.
