Gov't Targets Energy Cooperation after OIC Summit

medcom.id, Jakarta: Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Sudirman Said mentioned Organization of Islamic Coordination (OIC) Extraordinary Summit in Jakarta Opens up opportunities to develop energy cooperation with OIC countries.
 
Several OIC countries are oil exporting countries like Azerbaijan, Iran and Saudi Arabia.
 
Sudirman revealed Indonesia has agreed cooperation with Azerbaijan that will make oil imports from the former Soviet republic country more efficient.
 
"For example Azerbaijan, previously the process was very long, now we would receive 1 million barrel per day," he mentioned at the parliament, Jakarta, Tuesday (3/7/2016)
 
Indonesia also has agreed gas partnership with Iran where Indonesia will get discount for Iran's liquified petroleum gas (LPG). "We have LPG deal with Iran with significant discount, USD25 lower than market price," Sudirman explained.
 
The government currently seeks energy cooperation with Saudi Arabia. "Saudi Arabia plans to move its oil reserve here if they could build refinery," he stated.
