House Passes 2017 State Budget

medcom.id, Jakarta: The House of Representatives approved the 2017 state budget this afternoon.

"Can we pass the bill into law?" asked House Deputy speaker Taufik Kurniawan during a plenary meeting at the Parliament Complex in Jakarta on Wednesday (10/26).

Previously, the House Budgetary Board and the government agreed macroeconomic assumptions in the 2017 state budget on Tuesday (10/25).

The economic growth assumption is 5.1 percent. Meanwhile, the inflation assumption is four percent.

Moreover, the budget deficit assumption is 2.41 percent of the growth domestic product (GDP) or Rp330.2 trillion.

"The government will try to boost revenue and maintain spending to create sustainable growth," said Finance Minister Sri Mulyani.
