medcom.id, Jakarta: The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources recently issued ministerial regulation on electricity purchase from photovoltaic power plants.

The Indonesian Solar Module Manufacture Association (APAMSI) welcomed the mew regulation. APAMSI member, Abdul Kholik, said the regulation will boost renewable energy sector in the country.

"It will accelerate energy diversification," Kholik said at the Ministry's office, Jakarta, on Monday (7/25/2016).

The regulation stipulates the State Electrictiy Company (PLN) to buy electricity solar photovoltaic power plants at USD14-USD25 per kwh. The regulation provides certainty to solar power companies.

"The subsidy is the government's responsibility. It will not reduce PLN's profit," Kholik stated.
