12 Poultry Companies Guilty of Cartel Practices

medcom.id, Jakarta: Twelve poultry companies have been found guilty of cartel practices.
 
The companies are PT Charoen Pokphand Indonesia, PT Japfa Comfeed Indonesia, PT Malindo Feedmill, PT CJ-PIA, PT Taat Indah Bersinar, PT Cibadak Indah Sari Farm, PT Hybro Indonesia, PT Expravet Nasuba, PT Wonokoyo Jaya Corporindo, CV Missouri, PT Reza Perkasa, and PT Satwa Borneo Jaya.
 
The companies conducted two meetings in September 2015. They agreed to cut production to raise prices.

The Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU) fined the companies a total of Rp119.7 billion. Charoen Pokphand Indonesia and Japfa Comfeed Indonesia received the biggest fines.
 
"Charoen Pokphand Indonesia and Japfa Comfeed Indonesia have to pay Rp25 billion each," said KPPU judge Kamser Lumbanradja at the KPPU heaquarters in Jakarta on Thursday (10/13).
 
KPPU chief M Syarkawi Rauf said the companies harmed small farmers.
