Govt to Start MRT East-West Line Project in 2020

medcom.id, Jakarta: The Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs has confirmed that the goverment will start the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) East-West Line project in 2020.
 
The project will span around  87 kilometers. The first phase will span around 27 kilometers.
 
The project will connect Jakarta, West Java and Banten. The first phase will connect Ujung Menteng and Rawa Bebek.

"The first phase will cost around USD3.9 billion," Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said in Jakarta on Wednesday.
 
The project will be studied by the National Development Planning Agency (Bapennas). It will be funded by private sector.
